Wind Walkers Release New EP I Don’t Belong Here and Reveal Emotional Track “Hereditary”

Friday, October 3, 2025 — Genre-defying metalcore outfit Wind Walkers have returned with their brand-new EP, I Don’t Belong Here (via Fearless Records), marking their first major release since 2023’s What If I Break?. The new collection finds the Massachusetts-based quintet diving even deeper into themes of identity, pain, and transformation — blending melodic vulnerability with crushing heaviness in a way that’s quickly becoming their signature.

To celebrate the release, Wind Walkers unveiled a visualizer for “Hereditary,” one of the EP’s most emotionally resonant tracks.

Frontman Trevor Borg opened up about the meaning behind the song, sharing:

“This song comes from some of my earliest memories of watching someone I loved change in ways I couldn’t understand. As a kid, you don’t have the power to fix it, you just kind of absorb it. The ‘shapeshifting’ spoken of in the lyrics is about the ways people hide their pain, how they put on new faces to survive, and how that loss of self can be passed down. I wrote it to process how trauma can echo through generations. It’s a very personal song to me, but I think a lot of people know what it’s like to grow up in the shadow of someone else’s suffering and to feel that weight shape who you’ve become.”

“Hereditary” captures exactly that — the sound of generational wounds surfacing through a haze of melody and aggression. The band channels that duality beautifully: ethereal atmospheres and clean vocals that cut straight into moments of cathartic breakdowns, reflecting the emotional tug-of-war between pain and perseverance.

With I Don’t Belong Here, Wind Walkers continue to cement themselves as one of metalcore’s most emotionally honest and musically daring acts. The EP serves as both a confession and a release — an exploration of alienation, reflection, and finding strength in the very things that once made you feel out of place.

I Don’t Belong Here is available now on all streaming platforms.
