The release arrives on the heels of a major milestone: Marks’ 2019 breakout anthem “Outlaws & Outsiders” — featuring Ivan Moody (Five Finger Death Punch), Mick Mars (Mötley Crüe), and Travis Tritt — has officially been certified Gold by the RIAA in the U.S. It marked the first-ever Top 10 U.S. rock-radio single by a Canadian country artist and has now racked up over 212 million global streams.

“Whiskey River”: Where the Week Ends and the Party Begins

Following his gritty singles “A Different Kind of Year” and “Hangman,” Marks raises the bar with “Whiskey River,” a rowdy, honky-tonk anthem made for late nights, long pours, and letting loose. Driven by twang-heavy guitars, pounding drums, and a chorus that begs for a sing-along, the track perfectly captures the feeling of walking through the saloon doors and leaving your worries behind.

It’s a rowdy, honky-tonk feel-good country anthem made for late nights and good times,” Marks says. “With twangy guitars, stomping drums, and a barroom sing-along chorus, it’s the soundtrack to letting loose after a long week.

He continues,

The song follows a simple man who’s had one too many late nights according to his partner. When things get rough, he runs to his favorite small-town watering hole, where the whiskey flows like a river and the worries get washed away. It’s about freedom, fun, and the kind of night you’ll never forget — if you can remember it.

A Fusion of Rock & Roots

Produced by Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Shania Twain), Kile Odell (NOTHING MORE, Nita Strauss), and Andrew Baylis (Jelly Roll, Brantley Gilbert), Sorry For Nothing Volume 2 delivers a ten-track punch that swings between arena-ready rock riffs and gritty southern storytelling. It’s a record built for both beer-soaked dive bars and festival stages, showcasing Marks’ evolution into one of modern country-rock’s most authentic voices.

The Sorry For Nothing era — spanning both volumes — feels like a rallying cry in an age of division: unapologetic, loud, and rooted in the spirit of unity through music.

So pour yourself a drink, turn the volume up, and let Cory Marks remind you what country-rock rebellion sounds like.

Sorry For Nothing Volume 2 is out now on all streaming platforms.
